🌲I’VE FALLEN AND I CAN’T GET UP! Now what?

LEARN HOW TO GET UP OFF THE FLOOR BY INCREASING YOUR STRENGTH, FLEXIBILITY AND IMPROVING YOUR BODY MECHANICS

It’s Interesting to know that what is needed to stay on your feet and to get up off the floor are just about the same things:

good balance

flexibility

strength

good functioning body mechanics

This will not be a lecture but a "hands on" class to learn how to better get up off the floor. Be prepared to move, so wearing comfortable clothing is a must. Classes will be held in the gym where each participant will be given appropriate for his/her level strength building and movement exercises to be done in class and at home in order to increase strength, flexibility, range of movement and body mechanics.

This initial series of classes will be geared to people who are unable to get up off the floor or who are having difficulty doing it.

Class size will be limited and will be 1 hr. in length for 4 sessions and will start on February 19th. at 2:00.

The cost of this initial series of classes will be by donation only. Proceeds will go to support the Roots/Healing Circles program.

Sue Taves is a licensed physical therapist and has over 35 years of experience helping people get stronger and learn how to move better. She teaches SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life) and balance classes at Soundview Center in Langley.

Julie Gersten has been a massage therapist for over 40 years and a certified Feldenkrais Practitioner for 30 yrs. Her Moving Comfortably Feldenkrais based classes, SAIL (Stay Independent For Life) classes and private sessions at Soundview Center in Langley assist people who want to learn how to move better, be more comfortable and feel more functionally fit as they age. They might have sustained injuries, have had post surgical movement limitations/ joint replacements and as a result, might be wanting to improve their balance, agility and flexibility.
