Kung Fu Exercises with Stan Hiserman
These Kung Fu exercises follow the same sequence that Stan practiced and assisted teaching at the Seattle Kung Fu Club six hours a week for more than twelve years. The practice is now at a slower pace and with fewer repititions making it suitable for all ages and abilities. It’s an accessible energizing form of exercise with no contact and low impact on sensitive joints. Kung Fu exercises build strength, endurance, balance, concentration, flexibility and hand-eye-body coordination along with Chi, our internal healing energy.
About Stan Hiserman: Having grown up in Northeast Seattle, Stan spent his adult life in Southeast Seattle raising two children and leading various community projects. He started a one-man custom furniture and cabinet business in the Madrona neighborhood. The same year, Stan started studying Kung Fu intensively at The Seattle Kung Fu Club with Sifu John S. S. Leong. Not long after that he began learning Tai Chi from the late Master T. Y. Pang. Now retired, Stan lives near Langley and teaches woodworking one day a week at Ballard Woodworks. Stan taught Tai Chi at three locations as a volunteer for about twenty years in Seattle, now Stan offers Tai Chi and Kung Fu classes at the Soundview Center.
This is a free community class offered through the Roots program of Healing Circles Langley. Donations welcome.
